Issue 7 complete!

Issue 7 is done and dusted!

Just one final editing pass and it'll be out the door. This book is definitely the one I'm most proud of to date in terms of writing and artwork. It seems like each issue more and more work goes into producing the book so I'm hoping that translates to an improved final product.

I'm pretty proud of the fact that for seven issues now we've held to our quarterly deadline and goal going forward. I am mixing up a little though now with the book down the track.

Firstly, obviously there is the full color, stand alone issue 8 which I'm pretty excited about. This gives us a big chance to mix things up and have a bit of fun with the book.

Other news relates to the trade paperback which we've now decided to push back towards the end of the year. Whilst its obviously something we want to do, there is quite a bit of work involved in this and also the addition of a planned exclusive story. That said, a decision was made to focus more on the day to day of the quarterly floppies as this is the core of the title. Diving into making the trade at this stage would just hurt the regular releases.

Then of course there's the question of the series as a whole going forward. We've got convention season coming up and we are obviously eager to see if the book can back up to what was a phenomenal first year and hopefully build on that. There are so many projects we'd love to be working on but there's only so much time that we can devote to them. This book obviously takes precedent and the hope is that we'll keep it going for a long time to come, but obviously as any creator knows there is a real knack to being able to continually grow your readership.

Suffice to say this will be a very interesting year. We've got a few Supanova Expos to do (Melbourne and Sydney), as well as ComicGong, Homecooked Festival and some other smaller events. We are also in  talks with a few other event organisers to see what else we might attend, and there is also the possibility we may be journeying to SDCC as part of a panel there.

Fingers crossed :)
